  • The Fetish Sunga
    • Lied about catching fish
    • walking through water
    • hosting a feast for him
    • The wine took away his power of speech
  • The Fight between the two fetishes, lifuma and chimpukela
  • Songye power figure from Congo (sometimes called a fetish)
    • loved all of his fishermen
    • collected sand and shells in a jar 
    • so his people could own part of the beach again
    • Tripped over an ant hill and broke his leg--
    • why there are no ant hills in congo
    • because he tried to take the ocean he cursed it
      • again why there are none in Conogo
  • The Leopard and the Crocodile
    • wives refused to work
    • made a deal with the leopard
    • made the same deal with crocodile
      • this means he went back on his sole deal with the leopard
    • man planned to no longer do business with them so he wouldn't have to feed them his dogs
    • man tricks croc and leopard into thinking each other were dogs
    • then the town feasted on the flesh of the two dead animals
