During election season I hear, "Those who show up make the decisions," a lot. I have always loved this quote. I'm in advertising and the more I think about it this quote the more I think it is important to show up to create change, not so much always make the decisions. When I want to be lazy and not lead my group or skip an agency meeting, I tell myself, "Those who show up create change."

I read the article, "The 9 Principles That People Who Feel Successful Say They Live By" and found it incredibly interesting. Now most of them are honestly pretty obvious to me but just because something is obvious doesn't mean it is a well-worth read that invokes thought. The most thought-provoking principle of the nine was suspend judgment. Judgment not only shoves others in a box but also keeps you in one. I am a firm believer in calendars and planners. I use these two things to stay on top of my busy schedule. I use mostly hard copy calendars like a big one on my wall and an agenda calendar. However, I have tried to start keeping my phone calendar up to date as well for quick references when I am away from my hard copy calendars. I think I am going to try to start to sync my canvas calendar with my phone. It would make assignment due dates even more clear and accessible. For time management in this class, I have been heaving up on Tuesday/Wednesdays and making Sundays my project and extra credit days.
